Texas Hold'em Poker Variation

Texas Holdem is one of the most popular online poker games in the world. History began with the five card draw and seven- card stud poker in casinos, but then Texas Holdem came on the scene. Everyone wanted to learn how to play Texas Holdem. They also wanted to be able to play it from home or any computer rather than going to casinos.

The Texas Holdem variation is based on 7 card stud. In this game the players at the table will be dealt two cards. These are called the hole cards, which mean they are dealt face down. After the hole cards are dealt there is a round of betting to stay in the game. This starts the succession of the flop. In the flop there are five cards. You have to bet to get all the cards dealt. You will either raise or call during these rounds to determine if the game will continue.

Once all five cards are dealt in the flop it is time to get to some serious betting. This will weed out the players who dont have a hand. You have a choice to fold, raise, or call. If you call you have to wait until all players make their decisions. If a raise happens you must match that raise in order to stay in the game and call.

Of the five cards in the flop you will have to find three that will make your five card hand of poker. If all you have is a pair you may want to fold. Typically you are looking for something in the full house or two pair range in order to win. Just remember that three of the cards in the flop have to make your Texas Holdem hand if you want to win.
